Wireless Technology

Wireless, while generally not a complete replacement for cabling, offers a compelling business case for solving many connectivity challenges.

     Examples of implementation include:

  • “Hot spots” providing Wi-Fi Wireless LAN (WLAN) access in public areas for convenience and customer retention.
  • Mobile workstation and handheld device connection to the network – healthcare provider access to patient records and technician access to repair documentation.
  • Outdoor point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and mesh network access between buildings – whether across a parking lot or across town.  Replaces trenching and overhead access in locations where not economically or physically feasible or to replace recurring expense and reduced performance of leased lines (T3/DS3, T1/FT1, Frame Relay, analog dialup).
